With so many different choices of computer training courses available on the market today, it’s advisable to find a company who can guide you on one that will suit you. Professional companies will take the time to talk through differing job options that you might enjoy, prior to deciding on a computer training course that will give you the knowledge you need.

Why borrow the money or pay in advance (plus interest of course) on exam fees when there’s absolutely nothing that says you have to? A lot of profit is netted by organisations charging upfront for all their exams – and then cashing in when they’re not all taken.

It’s worth noting, with most ‘Exam Guarantees’ – they control when and how often you are allowed to do a re-take. You’ll have to prove conclusively that you can pass before they’ll pay for another exam.

Splashing out often many hundreds of pounds extra on an ‘Exam Guarantee’ is naive – when a commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools is what will get you through.

If you’re thinking of using a training academy that is still using workshop days as a benefit of their course, then consider these issues encountered by the majority of students:

* Loads of driving back and forth from the centre – normally quite a distance away.

* If, like many of us, you work, then Mon-Fri workshops are difficult to make. Typically you are having to deal with several days in a row too.

* Lost annual leave – most workers are given only twenty days of leave annually. If over half of it is swallowed up by study classes, that isn’t going to leave much vacation time for the student.

* Training workshops often become quickly full, giving us the only option of a slot that doesn’t really suit.

* Maybe you like to work at a pace that is different to the other class members. Sometimes this causes tension in the class.

* The growing costs associated with travel – travelling to the training centre together with several days bed and breakfast can cost a lot each time you attend. If we just assume 5-10 workshops at about thirty-five pounds for one night’s accommodation, plus forty pounds for petrol and 15.00 for food, we arrive at 450-900 pounds of hidden costs that we now have to fund.

* You should never risk even a small chance of being side-stepped for potential advancement or income boosts while you’re training.

* Surely, all of us at some time have avoided asking a question, because we wanted to maintain the illusion that we did, in fact, understand?

* For those of us who need to at times work or live away part of the time, imagine the trouble involved in getting to the necessary events, as time is now more scarce than ever.

The absolute best situation is by viewing a pre-filmed class – with instructor-led learning available whenever you wish.

Study can happen anywhere that suits. If you’ve got a laptop, you could get a bit of sun in your garden while you study. If you have any difficulties then logon to the 24×7 support facility.

Forget taking notes – every lesson is laid out for you already. If you need to cover something again, it’s there.
