A lot of people wonder if they can use opera glasses. It does not matter if you wear glasses or you can not see very well, you can use opera glasses if you wish. They will not hurt your vision as long as you are not walking around looking through them all the time.

The prices on opera glasses can be a lot of different prices. They can cost anywhere from thirty dollars to hundreds of dollars. The price depends on what kind you get, where you get them from and what they are made out of. You can get them made out of Mother of Pearl and this can be costly but is worth it because they are beautiful.

Opera glasses look so much like binoculars but are very much smaller than binoculars. They also will focus really well inside and Binoculars will usually only focus good when you are outside. There should not be any reason why you can not find opera glasses that you like because they come in so many different designs.

The reason that the opera glasses cost different is because of how well they are put together and the optics that are used for them. Obviously, if the materials are more expensive them the cost is going to go up, just like it would on anything else that you might buy in a regular store. You can find opera glasses at stores in Hollywood but you can mostly find them on-line if you do not live in Hollywood or close to Hollywood.

Renting or having opera glasses can be very helpful because this allows people to see the stage from their seat. Usually it is very cheap to rent opera glasses at a performance. There are some people who find that they do not need opera glasses at all. This all depends on how well they can see or if their seat is close to the stage.

It is usually a personal choice of some people to use opera glasses. Some people like to use the glasses to follow the story that is going on in the opera and some people only find that it is distracting to use opera glasses.

It is a personal choice of many people to use Opera Glasses but it is not mandatory to own or rent them if you go to an opera. You should always rent or borrow glasses before you buy because then you can see if they are right for you before you spend the money on them.

Jeff B. has always loved the theater and opera, he currently helps run an opera glasses retail site where they sell opera glasses. Including Opera Glasses with handle, flashlight, chain and more!

Opera Glasses are similar to binoculars but they are made for being able to see performances on stage. In old opera houses seats placed in balconies that were subsequently cheaper were very far away from the stage. In some they were so far away on the figures could be seen from that distance but seeing facial features, and thus part of the acting, was impossible to make out. Opera glasses would enable those people in the peanut gallery to see on stage much better to the point of seeing the facial expressions of the actors or singers. They have been popular since the 50’s.

Opera glasses are different from binoculars as they are made to be smaller and some where made not so much to look utilitarian but to look stylish. Some pop up from a flat looking case and are easily carried in women’s clutch bags or in suit coat pockets. Others fold so that they can easily be carried around without notice. There are some that mimic those of the past with a single rod attached called a lorgnette, so the glasses can be held to the eyes with only one hand. This folds up as well.

Opera glasses are easily purchased even in today’s market. A cheap model may cost under $100 US dollars, at around $50, but they can go up in price to hundreds of dollars. The expensive types will have better optics and magnifications and probably be a little more fashionable as well. Vintage opera glasses can cost increasingly more dollars just because of the fact they are old. Just make sure they still work well.

Many opera houses and theaters have opera glasses for rent and the price for renting is generally inexpensive. If you frequent the opera or the theater often it may be better to own a pair, but if you only go every so often renting may be the thing for you. It is also suggested if thinking about purchasing a pair to rent different types to see which will be more favorable to your liking. Some people like the ones better that are on the long rod and employ the use of only one hand better, while others don’t mind using both hands. Some people find they don’t even like using them at all.

Opera glasses differ from binoculars in their optical system. Binoculars have a complicated system while opera glasses are simple based on the Galilean optical system invented by Galileo. The image seen is not nearly as sharp as with binoculars but you will still be able to see everything up on stage.

China is the major producer of opera glasses today. They usually have a 3 X magnification that is good for a concert hall or big auditorium. Some go up to 5 X but they tend to cost more. Some come equipped with a center focus and others don’t focus at all. The ones that do not focus usually have a small LED light that is placed between the barrels for the eyes. It helps you to read the program in dim lights without bothering the person in the seat next to you. People with good vision have no problem with these but if you do wear glasses or contacts you might want to look into the focusing type. There is a mechanism for the focus in the focusing opera glasses that takes the place of the light. You can use them with corrective lenses or without.

Cases usually come with new opera glasses and the vintage type will also have them. Soft cases are available as well as the hard type with a velvet lining. Antique glasses can be made of ivory or cloisonne enamel or they may have jewels attached or be decorated with gold or silver. These opera glasses were made to be elegant although you were not supposed to notice them. Either type make a great gift for those who frequent the opera, ballet or theater.

Jeff B. has always loved the theater and opera, he currently helps run an opera glasses retail site where they sell opera glasses. Including Opera Glasses with handle, flashlight, chain and more!

The Juilliard college is a center for music and the performance humanities that has provided the world the highest caliber of artists from musicians, actors, to dancers for centuries now. Juilliard’s first consideration is to foster an environment of fantastic dexterity for scholars to hone and prepare them for a successful career in music and the performing humanities.

In fact, Juilliard college has produced numerous notable personalities in the fields of drama, dance and music. The first Superman actor Christopher Reeve, Laura Linney of The Truman Show, Marcia Cross of Desperate Housewives, comic and actor Robin Williams of Good Morning Vietnam, and Sara Ramirez of grey’s Anatomy are just a few of its produced talents.

Juilliard’s professional quality musical coaching also gave the world the following artists : Nathaniel Ayer, a Yank specialist and pianist whose life is featured in the movie The Soloist ; Hiroko Nakamura, a pianist ; the chamber music trio called Ahn threesome by the three sisters : Angella, Lucia, and Maria Ahn ; and also Jonathan Batiste, a pianist.

Juilliard faculty initially came to be called the Institute of Musical Art when it was founded in 1905 by Dr. Frank Damrosch, who believed that US citizens aren’t supposed to travel to Europe if only to study music and the performance arts. From its first students of a hundred, it has ballooned to a few hundreds more, which showed the increasing demand for top quality musical coaching in the US. As a result, the school originally located at the fifth and twelfth Street moved to its Claremont Avenue location. Juilliard faculty then got its name as an element of its metamorphosis. It also resulted to the founding of Juilliard Graduate faculty.

Because of the sudden increase in the number of enrollees, Juilliard resorted to separating its classes into many divisions as drama, music, dance, precollege, evening, university, and the Music Advancement program. Anyone who wants to be in the ranks of the great Juilliard graduates should be ready to pass the competitive auditions in selected cities around the united states. Their performances will be rated by the members of the faculty.

Juilliard has been part of history in the performance arts arena. In 2006, Juilliard was awarded a trove of precious music manuscripts from the billionaire collector Bruce Kovner. This includes recommended proofs and first editions of the major works of Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Schubert, and many others. This is an indication of Juilliard’s fantastic collection of music and how it got its rep as the number 1 music college in the U. S.

Dance is commonly considered to be a form of art. This is a fact acknowledged by civilizations around the world, both in ancient and modern times. Dance is a form of emotional expression that is highly sophisticated and technical.

Some dances may be a simple swaying of the body to go with the rhythm of the music. There are also other passionate forms of dancing, however, that are emotional expressions and need to be felt by the viewer. In this type of non-verbal expression of emotions, if you know how to express your feelings to others without saying a word, then you can do these dances.

From a social dance in which human beings gathered together and expressed their emotions and sorrow, joy, ecstasy or just Thanksgiving, thousands of years ago, dance forms have taken the form of trends, which might be classical or might evolve into something, which shows the social, traditional, cultural, and moral ethos of the period.

There was a time when the waltz was supposed to be “fast” because the man had his arm around the waist of the women. Nowadays, one can watch a courtship game going on before one’s eyes in the shape of an erotic tango, and not raise an eyebrow.

There are two main types of dance schools and they differ from each other. The one group believes in traditional dancing and the other in spontaneous dance forms. The classical form includes dances like the waltz, whereas spontaneous dances are those like hip hop. There is no comparing these groups of dances, however some do have the belief that combining these forms can result in outstanding, unique and inspirational dances and performances.

Orsino was willing to dance to the tune of love and was also quoted as saying “if music be the food of love play on”. Dance and music are linked together so tightly that most cannot imagine one without the other. However, there are forms of dance that can be performed without music, such as tap dancing. Tap dancing seems to make its own rhythmic music as if the dancer is dancing to a silent tune only he or she can hear. Likewise, a musical performance can be conducted without having to add dancing to the show.

It is not possible to say that any one era has a claim on dance or that it cannot change into a new form. There will always be new forms of music created to compliment and accompany new dance forms. Old dances are not restricted to those past eras and our ancestors just might recognize some moves of their times in modern dances.

Even if you think that you have two left feet when it comes to dancing, as long as you have the urge to move your feet and body in a certain way you are actually performing a dance. It is possible that you will be dancing the way your ancestors did thousands of years ago. No matter why it is done, dancing is an art form that will be around forever.

Wicked is an amazing musical, and a storyline you are sure to love. The story is based off of the original movie of the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz. Wicked is the story of how The Wicked Witch of the West got so wicked.

Wicked is an amazing musical, and a storyline you are sure to love. The story is based off of the original movie of the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz. Wicked is the story of how The Wicked Witch of the West got so wicked.

When going to the theater to see Wicked the musical you will want to have a pair of opera glasses. The costumes are so breathtaking that characters wear that you will not want to miss any of the detail. Glittery, silky, gorgeous material makes up the lovely gowns. The singing is outstanding. With your opera glasses you can watch the actors sing their hearts out up close and personal.

One of the aspects of this play that I truly have enjoyed is the discovery of the childhood lives of each of the witches, both the good witch, and the wicked witch. As you attend you will start to understand why each turned out the way they did.

In the performance of Wicked you find the story going to many twists and turns. As the play begins we begin to see the childhoods’ of both the Good Witch, and Wicked Witch. We see that Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) had a terrible upbringing, you find out that she was born with green skin, for which she was tormented constantly by those around her, you find that she was raised by her father, and had no mother to take care of her. Also you find that Glinda (the Good Witch) was born to a rich family, and as it turns out, was nothing more than a spoiled brat. At the end of the performance you attend, you are sure to be bombarded with opportunities to buy merchandise from the show, of all the things you are sure to be offered, I do recommend purchasing a CD of the music, as you will want to listen to it over and over again.

Wicked is one of the most popular musicals to come off Broadway in years, the story is unforgettable, and the music is sure to amaze. Wicked has won many awards for its music and theatrical performances. If after this review you still don’t believe me that it is a remarkable play, simply find someone you know who has seen it, ask them how they felt about it, and you will see what I mean. Opera glasses for this performance are absolutely necessary, so buy them if needed.

You know that Wicked is a masterpiece as this year of 2009 Wicked is on its second National United States tour. This musical is so popular box office records have occurred through and through. If you have not seen Wicked yet, you are missing a fantastic musical. I would highly recommending purchasing tickets as you will not be sorry. As mentioned above, do not forget your opera glasses.

Before you attend any performance make sure that you have a good pair of opera glasses. Here you can check out Opera Glasses with handle, flashlight, chain and more!

Devices to improve eyesight in general have been around for hundreds of years. It was not until the 1800's that opera glasses achieved their position as a status symbol among theater-goers of the day.

Devices to improve eyesight in general have been around for hundreds of years. It was not until the 1800’s that opera glasses achieved their position as a status symbol among theater-goers of the day.

Opera was also an important social event. People attending the opera wanted to be able to see and be seen and often spent time scanning the audience as well. To do this, they needed a simple and convenient magnifying device. Opera glasses were the perfect solution.

Opera glasses rapidly became status symbols and ways for people to show off their wealth. If you had the money to attend the opera you wanted others to know it. And a great deal of business was conducted at intermission as well. A huge portion of the high society social calendar was taken up by opera season.

Because of this, anything connected to the opera could become a status symbol. Opera glasses were no exception. A person attending the theater often had a pair made of expensive materials such as gold or enamel. The outsides of the glasses were often highly decorated. Cases to keep the glasses in were often highly decorated as well. Different variations came into being including lorgnette models that had an attached handle and folding models that were quite compact.

There are a number of places where you can find and purchase opera glasses. They still come in a range of different models and prices can range from the very reasonable to the extremely expensive. You may need to look a bit to find ones that fit your needs and your budget. Good starting places include camera stores and some Internet sites.

When you are purchasing your opera glasses you should check the level of magnification that they offer. It is usually recommended that you look for a 3x magnification. This will allow you a good field of vision and will minimize the amount of shaking may see from hand movement. Anything over 5x magnification is considered to be too high.

Once you know what your options are you can decide what style you are interested in. They still come in folding and lorgnette styles. There are compact models which will fold down into plastic cases which can make them more durable for outside use. This could be handy at an outdoor concert or at a rock concert where you may accidentally drop them.

If you are someone who wants to view theatre performances but are not able to pay high prices for your tickets, then opera glasses might be a good solution for you. It will allow you to feel in touch with the past and still enjoy the fine details of modern performances from anywhere in the theater.

Before you attend any performance make sure that you have a good pair of opera glasses. Here you can check out Opera Glasses with handle, flashlight, chain and more!

If you are planning on seeing the comedy play Shear Madness make sure you bring your Opera Glasses. In reviewing this wonderful performance I must first make sure that you are prepared for aching cheeks, and stomach muscles that will be sore for a week. I loved Shear Madness, Never have I laughed so hard in my life!

The play begins in a unisex hair salon; there are many types of people at coming in and out of the salon. We see many stereotypes, we see the dumb blond, homosexual hair dresser (played by John McGivern in the performance I attended.), the police officers, a high class woman, and of course the traditional red hot hunk of a man, which makes John McGivern’s character giggle with delight. In this scene we get the first bits of comedy. All of the characters seem to be sharing the most well guarded secrets with the hairdressers; much like as is found in the real world.

One thing that should be explained about Shear Madness is that much of this play is not scripted, but rather is performed in an improvisation. Much of what is discussed in the play; revolve around current events in the city and in the world. At times this improvisation is so funny that the actors themselves cannot contain their laughter, which of course makes the audience laugh harder. To ensure that you catch every slip up you will want to bring your opera glasses.

Shear Madness is very much an interactive play. As you attend, you will find that performers will periodically ask the audience for their opinions about the developing story. Many in attendance will shout out their answers which often vary wildly. This aspect alone will make this play unforgettable in your mind. If find that your seat is in the first few rows, be prepared, as you may find yourself as centerpiece of a joke. Remember, that all jokes are just in good fun.

Besides running a beauty salon and all of the gossip that it entails, Shear Madness’ plot pertains to a murder. The person murdered is the owner of the salon. The owner lived upstairs of the salon before she was murdered. As a member of the audience you are enthralled trying to figure out who the murderer is. Looking back at the play, each character in the play could possibly be the correct killer. You will find yourself squinting your eyes and eyebrows and scratching your head trying to figure out who committed the murder. Use your Opera glasses often to help you choose who the guilty murderer is.

Here is where Shear Madness gets fun. The owner of the salon is the one that is always murdered in this play, but the killer will vary from performance to performance, based on clues presented. Also the audience, based on the clues chooses who the murderer must be. This may sound odd, but is a very funny development. Many (like me) see the play over and over so that they can see the different endings!

Shear Madness is one of the longest running plays that are not musical. Popular critics such as the New York Times, Newsweek, Chicago Sun-Times, The Wall Street Journal and more have given Shear Madness rave reviews.

Opera glasses are always a crucial element in attending any performance, but especially this one. If you don’t bring your opera glasses, you are sure to miss moments, clues and laughs. Make sure you have a pair in hand before you walk out the door to go.

Before you attend any performance make sure that you have a good pair of opera glasses. Here you can check out Opera Glasses with handle, flashlight, chain and more!
